Shaping airflow for future generations
How a local Danish trading company turned into a global leader in engine cooling.
Inspired by the first plastic cooling fan he ever saw, Finn Sigurd Andersen started a journey turning a local Danish trading company founded in 1938 into a global leader in modular axial fans for engine cooling, HVAC&R, and industrial applications.
Still headquartered in Denmark, Multi-Wing has a strong global presence with 13 production sites, three development centers and several sales sites across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Distributing its products to more than 5,500 customers in more than 80 countries, in a wide range of applications, including construction and agricultural vehicles, wind turbines, cooling towers, condensers, generator sets and industrial ventilation. All in all, its modular portfolio adds up to more than 100,000 possible product configurations.
Altor has a long history of partnering up with owner-led industrial technology companies to support them on their growth journeys and invested in Multi-Wing in 2021.

Since Altor’s entry, Multi-Wing has used its deep aerodynamic expertise, flexible setup, and approach of customizing to the customer’s specific application to further expand into fan solutions. This has been supported by the set up of new production facilities and the building of electric motor competencies through the acquisition of long-term partner Fabrika Special Motors. Going forward, Multi-Wing will continue deliver superior performance on critical dimensions such as energy efficiency and noise levels, helping to shape airflow for future generations.
