Circulose

Making fashion circular

Circulose is a Sweden-based textile recycling company founded by innovators from Stockholm’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2012. Today, the Company has a patented process to produce Circulose, a dissolving pulp made 100% from cellulose-based textile waste and is currently the only closed-loop recycled textile player at scale. To date, there have been over 250 styles made with Circulose together with brands such as H&M, Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, COS, Zara, and Calvin Klein.

Why we believe in Circulose

  • There is large demand for recycled textiles on the back of significant industry sustainability issues – the textile industry with ~10% of global CO2 emissions, more than e.g. the aviation industry. Addressable MMCF and Cotton market expected to grow to ~16m tonnes by 2030 with significant undersupply of sustainable alternatives
  • Circulose has a proven and scalable patented technology for chemical recycling of cellulose-based textile waste with an already operational production plant, and is uniquely positioned to capture the opportunity
